2027 Calendar Photo Contest

Patronato San Xavier 2027 Calendar Photo Contest

Patronato San Xavier invites photographers of all skill levels, age 18 and over, to submit their best images of Mission San Xavier del Bac and its surrounding landscape for a 2027 wall calendar. This iconic landmark inspires both locals and visitors worldwide. Selected photographs will be featured in the 2027 calendar, with proceeds benefiting the preservation of San Xavier del Bac.

*Please Note: An active preservation project is currently underway at the Mission, and scaffolding will be visible on the façade into spring 2026. We encourage photographers to get creative- capture conservation work in progress, highlight the Mission interior or a unique detail, or return later in the season for that iconic front view before entries close in mid-July.

Submit Photos

DEADLINE:

All entries must be submitted by July 15, 2026.

Winning photos featured in the 2027 calendar.

Each winner receives a complimentary calendar and recognition on our website and social channels.

 

Contest Rules:

  1. Eligibility: Open to all amateur and professional photographers, age 18 and over.
  2. Subject: Photographs must feature Mission San Xavier del Bac, its interior or exterior details, surrounding desert landscape, in-progress historic preservation projects, or cultural events connected to the Mission.
  3. Photos must be landscape orientation, portrait format images will not be considered.
  4. AI generated images and photo composites (combination of two or more photos, not of the same scene) are not eligible to win.
  5. Entry fee is $6 to help cover administrative costs of the contest. 
  6. Up to 4 submissions per person.
  7. Image File Requirements:
      • High-resolution digital images (at least 300 dpi, minimum 3600px on the longest side), with a MAX file size of 20 MB.
      • JPG, JPEG, TIFF or PDF format.
      • No text, watermarks, date, logos or signatures.
      • Files names must be formatted with the photographer’s last name, first initial, entry number 1-4, and the approximate date of the photo (ex: lastname-firstinitial-1-oct2025.jpg).
      • Photos must be submitted digitally.
  8. Photographing at San Xavier Mission:
      • The use of drones is prohibited on Mission grounds.
      • No photography inside the church during Mass or other church services. 
      • Please be respectful and considerate of worshippers and other visitors at all times.
      • Refrain from excessive flash photography inside the church.
  9. Ownership & Rights:
      • Copyright remains with the photographer at all times.
      • By entering, participants grant Patronato San Xavier a non-exclusive license to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entries (with photographer credit) in connection with or promotion of the contest, and in any media now or in the future, including but not limited to: use on social media, in newsletters, and/or other digital and print media forms for editorial or historical uses and promotion of Patronato San Xavier in perpetuity. 
      • By submitting a digital photo in this contest, you are stating that you have secured the necessary permissions for all photo content (including people), and you are authorizing Patronato San Xavier to use the photo in any and all promotional materials or as we deem appropriate. Patronato San Xavier does not accept responsibility for photos reproduced or used without these permissions.
  10. Selection Process:
      • A judging panel will review randomized and anonymous entries and select 12 winners plus a “Best in Show” image, which will be featured on the cover.
      • Images will be judged on originality, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. 
  11. Prizes:
      • Each winner will receive material prizes which may include: cash prizes, gift cards, camera gear and other items.
      • Winning photos featured in the 2027 calendar.
      • Each winner receives a complimentary calendar and recognition on our website and social channels.
  12. Deadline: All entries must be submitted by July 15, 2026.

Sponsorship Opportunities for Individuals and Local Businesses

Patronato is also inviting supporters, local businesses, and community partners to support the calendar through sponsorships. Sponsors will receive recognition in the calendar itself, with opportunities ranging from a signature placement on the front cover, back cover, individual monthly pages, or recognition on a community supporters page.
