The Patronato San Xavier, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1980 to restore, maintain, and preserve the Mission San Xavier del Bac is seeking an executive director. The executive director will be responsible for the management and organizational leadership of the Patronato, which is composed of an active board of Southern Arizonans dedicated to protecting and conserving this architectural, historic and cultural icon of the Pimería Alta. The executive director will have responsibilities to carry out the direction of the board as well as work with the multiple stakeholders who share the ownership, care and use of San Xavier Mission. The Patronato is a non-sectarian organization that operates with a conservation easement for the physical structure of the mission. In addition to possessing a deep understanding for the many cultures that have shaped the Mission the ideal candidate for this position should possess the following attributes:
- Strong leadership and management skills to insure the financial, operational, donor and community engagement necessary to support the Patronato’s mission.
- Collaborate with the board to create and execute meaningful and measurable strategic plans and goals
- Build and maintain donor relations, grant writing and financial development to assist in ensuring that the continued funding of the conservation and restoration efforts of the Patronato.
- Serve as a community spokesperson for the Patronato as well as work with the board to maximize the continued exposure of the work of the Patronato to the community.
The applicant should have a Bachelors degree, 10 years of similar or related experience, strong communication skills – written, verbal, and all forms of media.
